200 Hour RYT Certified Yoga Instructor
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I have always been an athlete. I grew up playing fast pitch softball (little league, travel ball, and school ball). When I graduated college in 2000 I found a passion for running and went on to run numerous half marathons and six full marathons. Then, in 2006 I started doing CrossFit workouts at Gold’s Globo Gym on an old dilapidated basketball court, where we had to improvise movements with the equipment available. Eventually I followed George Dobbins, the founder of CrossFit Dover, to the first box in Delaware. It was here that I found a passion for CrossFit. I competed in many local competitions over the years, but then took a hiatus when I injured my knee in 2015. It was during this time that I discovered yoga, more so for the mental benefits than the physical. Through meditation, daily work on mobility, and a slow process of integrating exercise back into a routine, I made my way back to the box.
On October 17, 2015 the owner of CrossFit Unlocked, Brian DeLeon asked me to judge at the ESAC (since I was still recovering from my injury). Little did I know that it was here where I would meet my future husband. A few months after this Jason Langley and I started attending CrossFit Unlocked and we have been training there together ever since.
In 2017 I became a 200-hour RYT certified yoga instructor and started coaching classes at CFU. While I love a fast paced power flow, I also try to incorporate some restorative poses that we CrossFitters often neglect. More recently I got my Level 1 certification and am now coaching several classes each week. There is a profound reward in helping someone learn a skill, master a pose, or PR a lift!
